Blair Stevens B.Com(VPM) MPINZ AREINZ | Rural Sales
Blair is in the unique position of understanding farming and rural issues from most angles having had two decades as a senior rural banker, being a registered valuer and farmer advocate and growing up on a Southland sheep and beef farm. He believes that this extensive knowledge, combined with well thought out and creative marketing and excellent negotiating skills, assists him to understand the issues associated with selling rural assets and importantly, to maximise a farm's value.
Maintaining a proactive relationship with customers and the ability to offer sound, unbiased professional advice is just as important as negotiating with a variety of parties to get the very best deal possible. This means treating every property he sells from the perspective that if it was his own, he would want the very best in terms of professional project management.
Blair has a B Com. in Valuation and Property Management, he is a member of the New Zealand Property Institute, an Associate of the Real Estate Institute of New Zealand, has completed a Kelloggs Rural Leadership Scholarship through Lincoln University and recently finished his National Diploma in Real Estate (Level 5).
Blair has been recognised as one of the country's leading real estate agents with many company awards including the coveted Bayleys National Rookie of the Year Award for 2008-2009.
Blair has now sold in excess of $230 million of real estate in ten years specialising as a Rural Real Estate agent.
"Tamaihu" December 2015
Blair has recently successfully transacted the sale of our much-loved family farm. Our instructions to him pre-sale were simple - we would sell if the price was right and his brief was to leave no stone unturned to achieve this end. We need not have worried.
Marketing is a talent that comes naturally to Blair. Add to this his high level of integrity, reliability, discretion, the experience previously gained in the banking industry and you have the complete package - the totally professional rural property agent.
Preparing any farm for sale is always a demanding and often traumatic exercise. In our case it involved a real team effort with Blair very much our team leader. We will always be grateful to him for steering us through what to us was a huge event.
Thanks again Blair - we enjoyed working with you. The price we achieved for our property was above our expectations and this was due largely to your expertise.

“I have emailed several Real Estate agents over the year(s), and you are by far the most pro- active.
It is refreshing to see, as I have found 98% are useless, lazy and haven’t got the foggiest idea of being a salesman/marketer , or customer service.
No wonder more people are disillusioned with non-results they get from agents.
Thank you for being proactive"
"Anerley" July 2016
When Tinks and I decided to sell our farm, “Anerley”, we were both adamant that Blair Stevens was the agent we wanted to handle the whole process for us. At the time, Blair was selling rural real estate for another company in Masterton and we listed our farm with him. When Blair left to set up his own company, NZ Real Estate, we had no hesitation in moving the listing of Anerley, and in fact, I believe we were his first clients!
Right from Blair’s first visit to Anerley, we have been very impressed and happy with his attention to detail, level of professionalism, and very open and frank level of communication. His advice that “you can only sell you asset once, so let’s do it right” has kept us both positive and optimistic throughout what has at times been a rather stressful process. The decision to sell Anerley was a big one for us to make and Blair has at all times been aware of the emotional rollercoaster the sale process has at times put us through, and has supported and mentored us through the process at all times.
Both Tinks and I have no hesitation what so ever in recommending Blair Stevens from NZR to manage the sale of your property in the most professional and personable way possible and obtain the absolute best result possible for you as the vendor.

Our 125Ha seasonal supply dairy farm at Browns Rd, Pahiatua was successfully sold at auction in December 2014. The marketing and sale was conducted by Blair Stevens of NZR Real Estate.
The process began many months prior with a clearly defined marketing strategy being developed for the auction on 11th December. The strategy included such elements as a timeline of critical dates, a clearly defined advertising campaign targeting key geographical areas outside the immediate location and details such as the location of the auction and the auctioneer himself. All relevant farm data was collated, including the financial performance over the last five years and presented in hard copy and DVD to prospective purchasers.
I was impressed by the level of professionalism and dedication to details displayed by Blair throughout the process. The strategy was successfully implemented, all timetables were met and the farm was successfully sold at auction 11th Dec 2014. Testament to a successful marketing strategy was the fact that despite the difficult market conditions - at the outset Fonterra's milk price was $7 Kg Ms which declined to $4.70 Kg Ms just prior to auction - the price received per Ha was a record for the area.
Well done Blair. AAA rating.
